Chris Rock is ready to return to the wild. The comedian and actor has made a playful public pitch to reprise his role as Marty the Zebra in a fourth Madagascar movie, arguing that the franchise deserves another installment.
In a recent interview with Variety, Rock pointed out that while Madagascar has only three main films, the Ice Age franchise has five. “We only did three. There’s five Ice Ages. Five! Okay? I need another Madagascar,” he said, framing his request as a matter of fairness.
Rock even described Madagascar as “probably the biggest movie I’ve ever been in,” making his comments a surprisingly direct plea to DreamWorks for another sequel. It’s a clear signal that he’s ready and willing to return to the voice booth.
The actor also turned the joke on himself to drive the point home, referencing his divorce. “Do you understand I got divorced? I don’t have Madagascar money anymore,” he quipped.
