A Los Angeles judge has ruled that some of the money Chris Brown is earning from his nationwide tour with Usher must go to his former housekeeper to satisfy a $13 million judgment. The ruling grants Maria Avila’s request to assign money from Chris’s royalties and tour income to her.
Chris was ordered to pay Maria the eight-figure sum after she won her lawsuit over a vicious dog attack at his L.A. home in 2020. She claimed the dog attacked her and caused severe injuries. The singer denied allegations of wrongdoing, arguing she provoked the dog, but a jury found Chris liable for the attack.
The judge presiding over Maria Avila’s lawsuit granted her request to collect from Chris’s tour income. Court docs obtained reveal the judge granted her request to assign money from royalties and tour income to satisfy the judgment. Chris objected to the request, but the judge was not swayed. It’s unclear if Chris will ask for reconsideration or appeal the ruling.
