Chris Brown has added another milestone to his illustrious career, becoming the first male singer across all genres to achieve over 40 Platinum-certified singles, according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The feat cements his status as one of the most decorated vocalists in music history and highlights his consistent chart dominance.
This historic achievement comes as Brown celebrates new certifications for his hits Indigo, Call Me Every Day, and To My Bed, pushing his cumulative tally to 41 Platinum singles. Among male R&B artists, he continues to lead the pack, with total single sales of 114.5 million—placing him in 10th position on the all-time list across all genres.
Brown also joins Rihanna as the only Black vocalists in history to cross the 40-Platinum mark. Rihanna leads slightly ahead with 45 Platinum-certified singles, while the overall top 10 includes names like Drake (80), Taylor Swift (49), and Kanye West (51).
This latest recognition follows Brown’s earlier milestone as the first male vocalist to achieve 20 Platinum singles and surpassing Elvis Presley’s record for Gold certifications.
With these accomplishments, Chris Brown’s legacy as a record-breaking artist continues to grow, solidifying his position among the greatest in the industry.
