Jenna Compono and Zach Nichols’ family just got a little bigger, and a whole lot more chaotic. The Challenge stars welcomed their fifth baby, son Vincent John Nichols, on Sunday, Aug. 2, sharing the exciting news exclusively with PEOPLE. The new addition, who arrived two weeks ahead of his due date, entered the world at 7 lbs., 4 oz. and measured 21 inches long.
The couple revealed that Vincent’s early arrival was medically necessary. “There wasn’t enough fluid in there, and he already had the cord wrapped around his neck,” Compono explained. “The doctors didn’t want to take any chances”. She thought she was going in for a routine checkup because she was feeling crampy, but doctors told her she was staying and getting induced. “I really was not ready at all, but life throws things at you, and you just have to roll with it. I’m glad Vincent’s healthy, and now we get to enjoy him two weeks earlier,” she shared.
The baby’s middle name, John, carries special meaning, it honors Compono’s father. The couple’s other children include Francesca Rose, 11 months; Carmella Jean, 2; Liliana Marie, 3; and Anthony Joseph, 4.
For the reality TV power couple, adding a fifth baby to the mix was just another day in their beautifully chaotic household. “I am going to be completely honest, adding a child after three kids doesn’t make a difference anymore,” Compono admitted. “It’s pure chaos, but the best kind”.
The older kids have been incredibly helpful, Compono shared, adding that they “love” their new baby brother. “They love having a new sibling, although they still think another one is in my stomach,” she joked. “Everyone is so helpful (for the first week at least)”. With all five children close in age, she says she’s just happy they all get along and get excited when a new baby comes home.
