The 53-year-old actress and her husband, Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden, 47, welcomed their third child together, a baby boy named Nautas Madden. Madden shared the surprise announcement on Instagram, calling the arrival a blessing.
“Cameron and I are Happy, Excited, and feeling so BLESSED to announce the birth of our third Child; Nautas Madden. Welcome to the world Son!!” Madden wrote. “We love life with our family, our kids are healthy & happy, and we are grateful!!! having a blast.”
The couple chose a name rich with symbolism. Nautas, derived from the Latin root “nauta,” means “sailor, navigator, voyager”, described as “one who embarks on a journey and fears not the unknown”. Madden shared artwork of ships and nautical imagery alongside the announcement, reinforcing the meaning without posting any photos of the newborn.
The Cameron Diaz third child announcement adds to a family that already includes daughter Raddix, born via surrogate in December 2019, and son Cardinal, who arrived in March 2024. Both previous children were also born via surrogacy, a path the couple has publicly embraced.
Diaz, who stepped away from acting for nearly a decade to focus on family, responded to her husband’s post with a string of red heart and star emojis. She has previously described motherhood as “the best thing” in her life and credited Madden with helping her embrace a more present, balanced outlook.
The arrival comes as Diaz stages a Hollywood comeback. She is set to appear alongside Keanu Reeves in the upcoming dark comedy Outcome, marking her return to the screen after a lengthy hiatus. For now, family remains the focus.Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden have quietly built a beautiful family away from the spotlight. With the birth of Nautas, their home is now fuller, their hearts even more grateful. As the actress balances motherhood and a return to acting, one thing is clear: family comes first, always.
