Demi Moore has offered an update on the health of Bruce Willis, her ex-husband, as he continues to navigate life with frontotemporal dementia (FTD). The 69-year-old actor was diagnosed with the condition in 2023, following an earlier diagnosis of aphasia in 2022.

Speaking to CNN, Demi, 62, shared insight into how the family is managing:

I’ve shared this before, but I really mean this so sincerely. It’s so important for anybody who’s dealing with this to really meet them where they’re at, and from that place, there is such loving and joy.

While acknowledging the challenges, Demi, who shares three daughters with Bruce—Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30—emphasized the bittersweet nature of the journey.

[It’s] not what I would wish upon anyone. There is great loss, but there is also great beauty and gifts that can come from it.

Bruce’s family first announced his FTD diagnosis early in 2023, a progression from his initial aphasia diagnosis in 2022. At the time, the family released a heartfelt statement expressing their gratitude for the public’s support:

Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis.

Despite the difficulties, Demi’s update offers a glimpse of hope, focusing on the love and resilience surrounding Bruce during this challenging time.
