A judge has granted Britney Spears a permanent restraining order against a 51-year-old Louisiana man who showed up at her Southern California home uninvited. The legal victory for the pop star comes just days before her separate DUI arrest made headlines, marking another chapter in the singer’s ongoing battle for personal safety and privacy since her 2021 conservatorship ended.

Court documents obtained this week show the “Toxic” singer filed for protection against a man identified as Donald, whom she claims has been harassing her online since 2013. The situation escalated dramatically in 2025 when he appeared at her residence, triggering a trespassing arrest and finally, permanent legal action.

Security guards spotted Donald on Spears’ property last year and immediately contacted the sheriff’s department. When deputies arrived, they found the man shaking and smoking cigarettes at the scene. According to the petition, he “exhibited odd behavior and made several incoherent comments” during the arrest.

Spears made clear in her filing that she has absolutely no connection to the man. “I have no idea who Donald is, and have no relationship with him,” the court documents state. Her legal team emphasized that while many of his social media posts were “largely incoherent,” several “could be interpreted as threatening to harm” the singer.

The man’s digital footprint raised serious red flags for Spears’ security team. One post in particular caught their attention, the phrase “bullet hole heart” appeared on his social media accounts, prompting genuine concern for the singer’s physical safety.

The court filings also revealed Donald’s extensive criminal history. Records show convictions for criminal trespass and aggravated assault in 2019, plus charges including burglary, harassment, cyberstalking, and DUI. This pattern of behavior convinced the court that stronger measures were necessary.

The judge ruled in Spears’ favor, issuing a permanent restraining order that requires Donald to stay at least 100 yards away from the singer at all times. The protection remains in effect through 2030, giving Spears and her team five years of legal recourse should he violate the terms.

This legal protection arrives at a tumultuous time for the 44-year-old performer. Just days after the restraining order was granted, Spears was arrested for alleged DUI in Ventura County. California Highway Patrol took her into custody around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday night. She was booked at approximately 3 a.m. and released around 6 a.m. Thursday morning. Following the arrest, she deactivated her Instagram account.
