The multi-million-naira fraud case involving former Brila FM staff, including Babafemi Raji (Topmost Striker), has taken another dramatic turn. Despite issuing a public apology, many followers of the case have condemned it as insincere and manipulative.
Raji, who was recently arrested and later released on bail, is accused of being part of a N150 million fraud scheme that spanned five years. Other implicated individuals include Ekerete Sunday, the company’s former chief accountant, and Engr. Victor Sam Mpong Akakan, the former manager of Brila FM Port Harcourt. According to sources, all accused parties have admitted guilt and are now negotiating out-of-court settlements to avoid prosecution.

Many believe that Raji’s so-called retraction and apology is just another attempt to shift the narrative in his favor. Before his arrest, Raji allegedly orchestrated a social media smear campaign against his former boss and Brila FM founder, Dr. Larry Izamoje, painting him as an unfair and oppressive leader.
However, when his fraudulent activities came to light, it became clear that the social media attacks were merely a distraction from his own crimes. Now, Raji’s sudden apology has left people questioning its sincerity—especially since he failed to clarify exactly what he was apologizing for.
