Chicago drill rapper BloodHound Q50 was reportedly killed in an ambush at a Fuller Park gas station early Sunday morning. According to a preliminary police report, six gunmen allegedly fired more than 50 shots at his white 2019 Tesla before fleeing in two vehicles. The 22-year-old rapper, born Mikquale Cooper, was pronounced dead at the scene around 4 a.m. at a BP station on South Wentworth Avenue.
Police said two vehicles pulled alongside Cooper’s Tesla, and gunmen from both cars opened fire. More than 50 rounds were discharged before the attackers fled in a black Acura sedan and a silver Honda Accord toward the southbound Dan Ryan Expressway. An officer who reviewed surveillance footage said four of the suspected gunmen were dressed entirely in black. One wore a green hoodie, and another wore a black hoodie. A firearm was recovered from Cooper, according to a law enforcement source.
The Chicago Police Department has not officially confirmed the victim’s identity, but dispatch audio that surfaced online identified him as “Cooper Mikquale,” with a date of birth listed as August 6, 2004. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active. Q50 recently celebrated his 22nd birthday on August 6 with the release of his project Get Back or Die Trying. Tributes poured in from DJ Vlad, DJ Akademiks, and Rolling Loud, where Q50 performed earlier this year.
