Bebe Rexha is turning heartbreak into a dancefloor anthem. The pop star has released her new single Sad Girls alongside longtime collaborator and superstar producer David Guetta.
The track dropped across all streaming platforms on May 29, marking the duo’s first release since their massive 2023 run. Rexha announced the song with a teaser showing her crying dramatically before cutting to a pulsing club beat.
The new single Sad Girls had been teased for weeks after Rexha posted snippets online. Fans immediately began requesting the full version, and the singer delivered. The track features Rexha’s signature belt over Guetta’s signature house production, with lyrics embracing emotional vulnerability on the dancefloor.
“Sad girls dance harder,” Rexha wrote in an Instagram caption. “This one’s for everyone who’s ever cried in the club bathroom and then came back out like nothing happened.”
Bebe Rexha and David Guetta have proven chemistry at the top of the charts. Their 2023 collaboration “I’m Good (Blue)” became a global phenomenon, earning a Grammy nomination and dominating radio worldwide. That track sampled Eiffel 65’s 1999 classic “Blue” and became one of the most-streamed songs of the year.
Rexha, who has been open about her struggles with body image and mental health, said “Sad Girls” was written during a particularly difficult period. Guetta reportedly heard the demo and insisted on producing it immediately.
The song arrives as Rexha prepares for a busy summer festival run. Guetta is also set to headline major electronic music events across Europe. If their previous work together is any indicator, “Sad Girls” won’t be sad for long, it will be everywhere.
