Nigerian music sensation Ayra Starr has left fans stunned after revealing a surprising secret about her past—she used to be an online troll!

During a candid chat on the popular podcast I Said What I Said, the “Rush” singer admitted that before fame, she ran fake social media accounts and actively participated in online drama.

“Sometimes I want to be a troll on the internet, probably with a fake page, so that when people insult me, I won’t feel bad because I do the same,” Ayra confessed, sparking laughter from the podcast hosts.

A Former Stan-Turned-Star

Before becoming Ayra Starr, she ran a Nicki Minaj fan page and dabbled in trolling. Looking back, she sees the humor in it, joking that she could easily switch back.

“I did have a troll page before I became Ayra Starr. I feel like I’ve been there, done that. But I think I could even use my own Ayra Starr page. Trolling would be so fun!” she added playfully.

She also highlighted her sharp tongue, saying her siblings know how fiery she can get when provoked. “My mouth is not good. Don’t get me there. If you take me there, we go there!” she warned.

From Trolling to Stardom

Ayra’s revelation sheds light on how social media shapes public figures, showing that even celebrities have a past. While she once enjoyed hiding behind a screen, she’s now at the forefront of the Afrobeats scene, using her voice for music rather than online drama.

Her story is a reminder that people grow and evolve—and sometimes, the ones who once stirred the pot end up becoming the stars we admire today!
