Super Falcons defender, Ashleigh Plumptre, has extended her stay at Al-Ittihad Ladies, signing a new contract that will keep her at the Saudi Women’s Professional League club until 2027.
Plumptre, who joined Al-Ittihad on a free transfer in September 2023, has quickly become a key player for the team. The 26-year-old centre-back made an instant impact, scoring a hat-trick on her debut against Eastern Flames. This season, she has contributed two goals and one assist under head coach Lindsay Camila.
Before her move to Saudi Arabia, Plumptre played for Leicester City in the English Women’s Super League. She has also been a vital part of Nigeria’s national team, featuring in the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
With this contract extension, Plumptre is set to continue her impressive journey in Saudi Arabian football, further strengthening her role in Al-Ittihad’s defense.
