The lead single from her seventh No. 1 album petal debuted at the top of the June 13, 2026, chart and held the position for three weeks, never leaving the top five since its release.
The song’s dominance capped a massive season for Grande. In August, she occupied half of the Global 200’s top 10, with “Hate That I Made You Love Me” rebounding to No. 1 for a third week alongside “Petal,” “Kiss Me,” “Stay,” and “Oh Well” . Worldwide, the track drew 63.4 million streams and sold 81,000 downloads in its first week, with another 53.6 million streams in a single week at the height of summer.
The Ariana Grande Billboard Global 200 summer crown came during a tour-heavy season. She launched her Eternal Sunshine Tour days before the song debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100, her 10th career leader on that chart, tying her with Janet Jackson, Bruno Mars, and Stevie Wonder.
Grande wrote and produced the track with Max Martin and ILYA, extending Martin’s record as the most decorated producer in Hot 100 history. The song arrived as the first preview of petal, which is set for release on July 31, 2026.
