The helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro occurred Sunday morning when two helicopters collided midair above an electric vehicle yard in the city’s southwest region. Gaspi was aboard one aircraft with Oliver Tree, Lucas Brito Chaves, Lucas Vignale, and pilot Alexandre Souza. The second helicopter carried only the pilot, Charles Marsillac. All six people died.

Gaspi, just 23 years old, had become one of Argentina’s most recognizable online personalities. He built his following through comedy sketches and viral videos that accumulated tens of millions of views. Unlike many influencers who chase trends, Gaspi created character-driven, absurdist humor that resonated deeply with Spanish-speaking audiences across Latin America and Europe. His YouTube channel had been growing steadily, with several videos crossing the 10-million-view threshold.

At 23, Gaspi was still years away from what many in his management team believed would be his peak. He had recently expanded into live performances and was in talks for a small streaming series. Friends describe him as relentlessly hardworking, often editing his own videos until 3 or 4 in the morning to get the timing exactly right.

Fire officials say evidence from the collision is spread across hundreds of meters of the vehicle yard. Investigators are now relying heavily on video footage recovered from nearby security cameras and flight data from both helicopters. No cause has been ruled out yet, though early reports indicate clear weather at the time of the crash.

The deaths of Gaspi and Oliver Tree in the same aircraft have stunned two separate fanbases simultaneously. For Argentine followers, Gaspi was a homegrown success story. For global music fans, Tree was an eccentric icon just entering his commercial prime. Both were 32 and 23 respectively, too young, by any measure. Their final flight together was a coincidence of scheduling. The tragedy that followed is now permanently linked.
