Backstreet’s back — and so is AJ McLean’s family.
AJ McLean and his estranged wife Rochelle DeAnna McLean made a heartwarming appearance together at the opening night of the Backstreet Boys’ Las Vegas residency at the Sphere, joined by their two daughters, Elliot (12) and Lyric (8).
The family looked all smiles backstage on Friday, July 11, dressed in stylish all-white outfits as they supported AJ, 47, at one of the biggest milestones of his career. Rochelle, 43, shared a glowing Instagram post the following day, capturing a selfie of the united foursome and praising the show.
“Opening night @spherevegas was really something special,” she wrote. “All I can say is that it is really something you have to see for yourself. Bravo boys!”
Love and Support Amid Separation
AJ sweetly replied in the comments:
“I love you all so much. It wouldn’t have been the same if my girls weren’t there to kick off this amazing residency!”
This touching moment comes just over a year after the couple announced their separation in 2024, following a year-long trial separation in 2023. Despite the marital split, the two have remained devoted to co-parenting their daughters, showing maturity, grace, and mutual respect as they navigate life post-relationship.
In a June 2025 interview with Us Weekly, AJ shared an optimistic update on their co-parenting journey:
“We are co-parenting to the best of our ability… We have a family together that’s obviously not going anywhere. We have been spending a lot of time together as a family and, you know, her and I going out on dates here and there.”
Backstreet’s Vegas Reign Begins
The Backstreet Boys’ new residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas kicked off on July 11 and runs through August 24. The show is a futuristic, high-production celebration of their iconic hits, with Rochelle posting glimpses of the jaw-dropping visuals and their two-hour set in her photo carousel.
The residency features all five members: AJ McLean, Kevin Richardson, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, and Nick Carter, now aged between 45 and 53 — still delivering on that ’90s magic with new-age energy.
