Popular Nigerian actress and media personality, Omotunde Adebowale David, widely known as Lolo1, has shared her views on why many Nigerians endure tough conditions abroad rather than remain in their home country.
In an interview with News Central, the actress expressed disappointment over Nigeria’s current economic state, criticizing the lack of basic infrastructure that forces citizens to seek a better life elsewhere.
“I feel bad for Nigerians. I feel bad because, are the facts not glaring? I don’t know much about data, but the data is literally in your face. It shows that we are making the lives of foreign countries easier,” she lamented.

Lolo1 pointed out that high living costs and tuition fees abroad don’t necessarily make life easier, yet many Nigerians still prioritize relocation because they have access to stable electricity, good roads, and efficient public transport—things that remain unreliable in Nigeria.
Her comments reflect the growing trend of Nigerian youth seeking opportunities abroad, driven by economic instability and a lack of essential amenities at home.
With the rate of “japa” (relocation) increasing, her statement adds to the ongoing debate about whether staying in Nigeria is truly worth it compared to the sacrifices made overseas.
