Pep Guardiola has announced that Manchester City will be his last stop in club football management. The Spanish tactician, who has been at the helm of City for over eight years, recently extended his contract until 2027, marking a remarkable decade with the Premier League giants.
Speaking to Spanish chef Dani Garcia in an exclusive interview, Guardiola said, “I’m not going to manage another team. I’m not talking about the long-term future, but what I’m not going to do is leave Man City, go to another country, and do the same thing as now.”
The 53-year-old manager expressed his desire to step away from the daily grind of football to reflect on his career, enjoy golf, and even learn cooking. While he still feels young, Guardiola hinted at needing time to recharge and focus on personal growth post-City.
Despite his glittering record, including six Premier League titles with City, Guardiola admitted the toll of defeats can be isolating. “The pain of defeat, you feel it alone… no one can console you when you close the bedroom door and turn off the light,” he shared.
