Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu walked the runway for Nigerian designer Ugo Monye at Lagos Fashion Week on Saturday, 31 October.
The appearance took place during the event’s final evening of main runway shows at the Federal Palace Resort on Victoria Island, Lagos. Sanwo-Olu joined professional models to present Monye’s collection.
The governor later shared footage of the walk on social media. He described it as a break from his usual duties and joked that he was a “part-time model” for the night. He also congratulated Monye and the people working to promote fashion and creativity in Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu’s appearance was covered by Nigerian outlets QED.NG and P.M. News on 1 November. QED.NG reported that it was his second Lagos Fashion Week runway appearance since becoming governor in 2019.
