Kai Trump offered a hopeful update on her mother Vanessa’s breast cancer battle while walking the red carpet at the 2026 ESPY Awards in New York City. The 19-year-old told Page Six that her mom is “doing good” and “doing better” since undergoing surgery as part of her treatment. The update comes just over a month after Vanessa, 48, revealed that she had undergone a procedure and was preparing to start the second stage of her treatment.

Vanessa, who shares five children with ex-husband Donald Trump Jr., announced her breast cancer diagnosis in May via Instagram. She said at the time that she was working closely with her medical team on a treatment plan and staying focused while surrounded by the love of her family. She has since been spotted out and about, including a shopping trip with Kai in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she appeared to be in good spirits.
Throughout her health battle, Vanessa has had the support of her boyfriend, golf legend Tiger Woods. A source previously told Page Six that Woods has been “staying focused” on being her rock and is proud of how positive she has stayed. Kai also shared that both her grandfather, President Donald Trump, and Woods have given her golf advice, with Woods telling her to “be yourself, trust the process.”
