Phil Mickelson is facing new sexual misconduct allegations after Ashley Perez, the ex-wife of golfer Pat Perez, came forward with a decade-old story that has rocked the golf world. The incident, which she detailed in an interview with Skratch, allegedly took place in 2015 while the couple was staying at Mickelson’s villa during a tournament in New Jersey.
According to Ashley Perez, the three were drinking red wine on the patio when Pat excused himself to use the restroom. She claims Mickelson then took out his phone and showed her a full-body nude photo of himself. “Phil says to me, ‘I’m going to leave my bedroom door open tonight. When Pat falls asleep, I want you to come see me,'” she recounted.
Ashley says she didn’t tell her husband immediately because she didn’t want to disrupt the tournament. When she eventually came clean, Pat was furious but did not confront Mickelson directly. Years later, Pat Perez hinted at the falling-out on a podcast, saying, “I have a different hate for Phil than most people. Phil crossed the line with me that is just uncrossable and unforgivable”.
Mickelson reportedly apologized on multiple occasions, including a 26-minute phone call, but the friendship never recovered.
The sexual misconduct allegations come weeks after Mickelson was reportedly kicked out of The Farms Golf Club in San Diego following a complaint from a female employee. The Skratch report, based on interviews with 19 sources, also details other claims of inappropriate behavior.
Mickelson’s team responded with a statement, saying: “Some of the allegations circulating about Mr. Mickelson are false, and others revisit mistakes he has already acknowledged, publicly or privately”.
