The ongoing legal friction surrounding the King of Pop’s legacy has hit a new roadblock. Bigi Jackson, the 24-year-old youngest son of Michael Jackson, saw his legal team’s attempt to intervene in a bitter battle between his sister, Paris Jackson, and the estate’s executors end in failure. This latest development in the Bigi Jackson estate legal battle underscores the deep divisions within the family as they navigate the management of a multi-billion dollar empire.

According to court documents filed on April 6, 2026, the executors of Michael Jackson’s estate—John Branca and John McClain; revealed that Bigi (formerly known as Blanket) and his legal team spearheaded an effort in late March to resolve escalating tensions. Bigi’s lawyer reportedly claimed to speak for all three children; including Prince and Paris in an attempt to reach a compromise regarding the estate’s financial accounting.

The executors alleged that a deal was initially reached to modify how accounting reports and attorney compensations were handled. However, the truce was short-lived. Paris Jackson reportedly backed out of the agreement at the last minute, proposing a “radically different” plan that the executors have labeled as unworkable. Consequently, Bigi’s attempt to act as a peacemaker has officially stalled in court.

The Bigi Jackson estate legal battle is actually a multi-front war involving different interests:

• The Sibling Front: Paris, Prince, and Bigi recently joined forces to demand a detailed breakdown of the estate’s 2025 expenses by September. Paris has been particularly vocal, accusing the executors of “enriching themselves” and mishandling nearly $464 million in cash.

• The Grandmother Dispute: Separately, Bigi has been locked in a legal fight with his grandmother, Katherine Jackson. While they initially worked together to stop a $600 million catalog sale to Sony, Bigi later filed an injunction to stop the estate from paying for Katherine’s legal appeals after they lost the initial case.

At the heart of much of this unrest is the massive transaction involving Sony Music Group. The estate recently finalized a deal to sell half of Michael Jackson’s music catalog for an estimated $600 million, valuing the total assets at over $1.2 billion. While the executors argue this transformation from debt to a multi-billion dollar enterprise is a success, the heirs led by Paris remain skeptical of the lack of transparency regarding where those funds are being allocated.

With Bigi’s mediation failing, the matter remains in the hands of the Los Angeles Superior Court. The executors have asked the judge to adopt the original agreement reached with Bigi’s team, while Paris continues to push for her own version of oversight. For Bigi, who famously prefers a life out of the spotlight, this forced entry into the legal fray highlights the increasing pressure on Michael’s children to protect their inheritance as they enter their mid-twenties.
