The production of Jonathan Majors’ latest action thriller, tentatively titled Knuckle, has taken a dangerous turn. On April 3, 2026, reports surfaced that Jonathan Majors and co-star JC Kilcoyne were injured on set after accidentally falling six feet through a glass window during a scene.
The accident occurred on the film’s South Carolina set. Footage obtained by Deadline shows the two actors stumbling backward into a pane of glass that was not supposed to be involved in their movement. Both fell through the frame to the ground below. While Majors appeared to escape significant injury, Kilcoyne reportedly required multiple stitches on his hands.
The investigation into the incident reveals a major oversight in set safety. Sources indicate that the window had been replaced earlier that day with an unsecured sheet of tempered glass. This glass was intended to be shattered during a later stunt that did not involve any actors.
However, during a scene where a shot was “fired” at the characters, the actors moved back into the unsecured pane, causing the nearly six-foot drop. Despite the shock of the fall, audio from the set captured Majors immediately asking the crew, “Did we shoot it? Use it,” signaling his desire to keep the footage for the film.
The Jonathan Majors and co-star JC Kilcoyne injured on set incident has become the “last straw” for the production’s crew. On March 26, 2026, just a week before the window fall, members of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) officially walked off the set.
The walkout was fueled by a litany of safety and labor complaints, including:
• Falling Props: Reports of heavy equipment falling near crew members.
• Injury Incidents: A rigged tree branch reportedly struck a set medic earlier in production.
• Labor Disputes: Failure to sign contracts securing payments into union health and pension funds.
Producers from Bonfire Legend and The Daily Wire have played down the severity of the incidents, with producer Dallas Sonnier reportedly telling media outlets that the actors’ fall was “shorter than the failed movie careers of the now-union reps.”
Despite the strike and the high-profile injuries, production is reportedly continuing with a replacement crew. Directed by Kyle Rankin, Knuckle is being positioned as Majors’ major comeback film following his 2023 legal battles.
While Kilcoyne’s representatives say the actor is “doing well” and had a “positive experience” despite the injury, the IATSE remains picketing the set. The union has advised all members to avoid joining the production as they continue to fight for safer working conditions and fair contracts.
