Kanye West Michael Jackson Impersonator Steals Show in ‘Father’ Video

In a nearly three-minute visual that unfolds inside a beige church sanctuary, Kanye West sits motionless in the front pew. Nuns, elderly women, and a gospel choir surround him. Two astronauts charge in and remove his face, revealing him to be an alien. A knight on horseback parades through the aisle.

But none of that is what fans are talking about.

Seated two rows behind the rapper is a figure in an all-white suit, staring straight ahead with uncanny stillness. It looks like Michael Jackson. And in the world of Kanye West, that is precisely the point.

The man is Fabio Jackson, a well-known impersonator famed for his resemblance to the late King of Pop. His appearance in the “Father” video, released March 28, has become the clip’s most dissected detail, sparking a wave of reactions across social media.

Fans flooded YouTube and Instagram comments with variations of the same question: “Is that Michael Jackson in the back?” Others praised the subtlety of the cameo, with one calling it a “chef’s kiss” moment. The popular meme account Funny Hood Vidz summed up the collective reaction, commenting, “They really got MJ in the back.”

West’s connection to Jackson runs deep. His discography contains references to the pop icon dating back to his earliest work, from sampling the Jackson 5 on Jay-Z’s “Izzo (H.O.V.A.)” to his famous “light-skinned friend look like Michael Jackson” line on “Slow Jamz.” The obsession reached a peak with his 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, which featured a giant cartoon rendering of Jackson’s head in the “Runaway” film and the mournful lyric, “MJ gone, our n***a dead” on “All of the Lights.”

The “Father” video, directed by his wife Bianca Censori in her directorial debut, adds another chapter to this long-running homage. Censori’s collaborator Callum Pidgeon shared a behind-the-scenes snapshot of Fabio Jackson on set, confirming the intentional placement.

The release caps a significant week for West, who dropped his twelfth studio album, Bully, on March 27. The project arrives following a full-page apology published in the Wall Street Journal earlier this year, in which the artist addressed past antisemitic remarks and his struggles with bipolar disorder, stating he had “lost touch with reality” and was now focused on “positive, meaningful art.”

With over one million YouTube views in its first eight hours, the “Father” video suggests audiences are paying attention. And in true Kanye fashion, even with Travis Scott featured on the track and a spaceship taking off outside the church doors, it is the silent man in the white suit who has stolen the spotlight.
