Nicki Minaj is facing a new legal battle after a production company filed a lawsuit alleging the rapper failed to repay more than $275,000 in expenses tied to her Pink Friday 2 album launch and iHeartRadio Jingle Ball performances in late 2023 .

The lawsuit, filed by 24/7 Productions against Minaj and her company Pink Friday Productions, claims the vendor fronted over $255,000 for production services, including staffing, audio, lighting, rigging, and transportation—that were supposed to be reimbursed . According to court documents, the company says Minaj’s team approved the budgets, received the services, and then ignored repeated attempts to collect payment.

24/7 Productions says it first worked with the 43-year-old rapper at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, where it provided live entertainment production services. In late 2023, Minaj reached out again for help with two major events: her performances at iHeartRadio’s Jingle Ball and promotional activities for the Pink Friday 2 album launch .

The company says it submitted budgets that were approved and proceeded to deliver planning, on-site management, staffing, audio and visual equipment, lighting, rigging, and ground transportation. They advanced more than $255,000 out of pocket to cover these expenses, expecting repayment.

The lawsuit also claims that Minaj’s company, Pink Friday Productions, received approximately $650,000 for her Jingle Ball performances alone, but never used any of that money to settle the bill with 24/7 Productions.

According to the court filing, 24/7 Productions spent years attempting to collect the debt. When the company reached out to Minaj’s representatives, the response was repeatedly the same: “We’ll look into this”.

The complaint also alleges that Pink Friday Productions acknowledged the debt in writing at one point. An alleged message from Minaj’s team stated: “We will be able to send you the money for the radio shows as soon as it is received”. That payment, the company claims, never materialized.

24/7 Productions is now suing for breach of contract and naming Minaj personally on claims of unjust enrichment, arguing she directly benefited from services rendered without compensation . The company is seeking the full $275,149.62 plus interest and court costs .

While Nicki Minaj has not publicly addressed the lawsuit directly, a prominent ally has come to her defense. Alex Bruesewitz, a senior advisor to Donald Trump and a friend of the rapper, took to X (formerly Twitter) on March 23 to deny the allegations.

“Another day, another lie about @NICKIMINAJ,” Bruesewitz wrote. “This is completely false!” .

The rapper’s legal team has not yet filed a formal response to the complaint .

The lawsuit arrives at a turbulent time for Minaj, who has recently made headlines for her alignment with conservative political figures and for social media clashes with California Governor Gavin Newsom . She attended Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest in late 2025 and has referred to Elon Musk as “our leader” in recent posts .

This is also not the only legal action involving Minaj in recent months. In January 2025, a former tour manager named Brandon Garrettt filed a lawsuit accusing the rapper of assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress during a stop on the Pink Friday 2 World Tour. That case remains pending.

The lawsuit from 24/7 Productions is currently before the courts, with Minaj expected to file a response in the coming weeks. The production company is seeking damages exceeding $275,000, plus interest and legal fees .

Meanwhile, fans are watching closely. The rapper’s sixth studio album, nicknamed NM6 by fans, was originally slated for a March 27, 2026 release, but Minaj recently announced she “won’t be releasing an album until my contract is renegotiated”.
