After an all week-long teasing of her fans with a coming big reveal
on the social media, Mavin Records first lady and Pop star, Tiwa Savage
and her baby boy, Jamil, have been unveiled as the new ambassadors for
Pampers.
The songstress and her son were unveiled Monday in Lagos
as the new face of the Pampers at the launch of a new brand of the
diaper by Procter & Gamble.
Speaking on the endorsement, Tiwa said as a new mom, she was really concerned about getting the best for her baby.
“As
a new mom, you want the best for your baby. So I researched for the
best products, as well as take advice of people’s recommendations. But
my findings showed that Pampers care and spend more money in researching
for what would give babies comfort. That’s why I’ve decided to come on
board when I was approached,” said Tiwa, who was
at the event with her
son/co-ambassador and husband, Tunji ‘Tee Billz’ Balogun.
Tiwa had also took to her instagram page some minutes after she was unveiled to share the news.
“Introducing the new pampers Ambassadors #blessings #WeLovePampers #JamilLovespampers #Momknowsbest”.
Ehis
Enakhabor, Brand Marketing Director, P&G, speaking on the new
hashtag platform #Momknowsbest said it’s an avenue for mothers to share
their experience on their babies’ growth and their choice of diapers
that will make their babies sleep well and healthier.
“Pampers is
so committed to the happy and healthy development of babies. That’s why
we are creating this #Momknowsbest platform with the help of Tiwa to
kick start the new community of mom who will be sharing their
experiences online,” Enakhabor said.
Tiwa has basically been
cashing in on her baby, Jamil since he was conceived. It started with an
endorsement with Konga during her pregnancy and now Pampers. And
industry watchers believe this is probably just the beginning.
While
the figures involved in the new deal are shrouded, insiders say it’s a
huge deal for the singer who already has in her portfolio major brand
endorsements for MTN, Pepsi and Forte Oil.
Already, the singer and
her son have shot TV and print commercials for Pampers Nigeria which
have debuted on many electronic and print media.
