Global pop star Ariana Grande has opened up about the intense scrutiny she has faced regarding her appearance, mental health, and personal struggles as she prepares to take the stage at the 2025 Oscars alongside Cynthia Erivo for a performance from the highly anticipated movie, Wicked.
Despite being in the public eye for nearly half of her life, the past year has seen the 31-year-old singer’s fame reach new heights — but the constant spotlight hasn’t always been easy on her mental health.

In a heartfelt message, Ariana admitted that she has felt like a “specimen in a petri dish” since she was 16 years old, with people constantly commenting on her body and appearance.
“I’ve heard every version of what’s wrong with me… You fix it, and then it’s wrong for different reasons,” she said.
The Wicked actress highlighted how damaging public commentary on her weight can be, adding:
“No matter how much love you think you’re giving or how much care you’re showing, commenting on someone’s body can be uncomfortable and horrible.”
