Omowumi, the wife of late singer Ilerioluwa “Mohbad” Aloba, has made shocking allegations against her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba, accusing him of having ties with Naira Marley and others linked to Mohbad’s death.
Speaking in an interview on Arise TV alongside her lawyer, Kabir Akingbolu, Omowumi claimed that Joseph Aloba played a role in securing bail for some suspects arrested after Mohbad’s tragic passing on September 12, 2023.
“His father has been visiting Naira Marley,” Akingbolu alleged, referring to the controversial label boss previously accused of assaulting Mohbad. “Even some of the people arrested over Mohbad’s death were bailed out by him.”
Omowumi further accused Aloba of having a close relationship with Odumosu, the legal representative of the suspects, claiming he had been coaching them on what to say.
She identified some key suspects, including Ayobami Sadiq, who had an altercation with Mohbad before his death, and Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the nurse who allegedly administered the fatal injection.
“Mohbad was fine until he received the third injection, after which he started reacting,” Omowumi said, raising questions about whether the nurse’s negligence was accidental or deliberate.
The allegations come after a court recently dropped charges against Naira Marley, Sam Larry, and others due to lack of evidence, while ordering the prosecution of the nurse and Sadiq for recklessness and negligence.
