After months of silence, Joseph Aloba, father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, has finally spoken out, disputing the claims made by his daughter-in-law, Omowunmi Aloba, in her recent interview.
A Battle of Narratives
Wunmi, in an emotionally charged interview with Chude Jideonwo, alleged that a nurse administered an injection that triggered a severe reaction in Mohbad. She further claimed that Joseph Aloba was present on the day of his son’s passing and prevented the nurse’s arrest despite the apparent harm caused.
However, in a phone conversation with blogger Bukky Jesse, Mohbad’s father strongly refuted these allegations, stating that he never met the nurse in question. He described being completely shut out by Wunmi, his estranged wife Bose, and his younger son Adura during Mohbad’s health crisis, leaving him unaware of the situation until it was too late.
A Family Divided
Joseph Aloba also revealed that his relationship with Wunmi had been strained long before Mohbad’s passing. Since his son’s death, he claimed their only interaction was a single phone call filled with insults from Wunmi. He added that the only member of her family he had spoken to recently was her father.
As the controversy surrounding Mohbad’s tragic death continues to unfold, the conflicting accounts from both sides leave many unanswered questions.
