Grammy-nominated Afrobeats star Asake is facing serious allegations of homophobia and colourism, leveled by his former brand strategist, Tunde Pheonix.

🎤 What Happened?

Pheonix took to Instagram, titling his posts “Surviving Military” (a nod to Asake’s latest song, Military), where he alleged:

🔹 Asake disrespected Brazilian singer Ludmilla due to her sexuality.

🔹 During a video shoot, Ludmilla tried to hug Asake, but he stepped back and offered only a handshake, allegedly embarrassing her in front of her team.

🔹 Asake avoided interacting with locals in Brazil and allegedly refused to engage with dark-skinned women during the shoot.

🔹 His team reportedly excused his behavior, saying he “doesn’t want to associate with that,” referencing Ludmilla’s sexuality.

🔥 Social Media Reactions

The allegations have divided opinions online. Some are calling for Asake to respond, while others remain skeptical, awaiting statements from Ludmilla or Asake’s team.

Asake has yet to comment on the controversy.
