BTS’s Jungkook continues to dominate the global music scene with his chart-topping hit “SEVEN” featuring Latto, which has now surpassed a monumental 2.2 billion streams on Spotify. This milestone not only solidifies “SEVEN” as the most-streamed song by an Asian solo artist, but it also marks the fastest time any track in this category has reached such an impressive achievement.
Released on July 14, 2023, “SEVEN” became an instant global sensation, amplifying Jungkook’s widespread influence while he is on a mandatory military hiatus. Despite being away, his music continues to break barriers, and his devoted ARMY continues to celebrate his success, flooding social media with congratulatory messages and trending hashtags.
From its debut, “SEVEN” made history. The song amassed 16 million streams within its first 24 hours on Spotify, earning the title of the biggest debut of 2023. It debuted at #3 on the UK Singles Chart, setting a new record for the highest-ever ranking by a Korean solo act. In the U.S., “SEVEN” also secured the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, making Jungkook the second BTS member to top the chart as a solo artist, following Jimin’s “Like Crazy.”
The song has since earned multiple accolades, including two Guinness World Records: one for being the most-streamed song in a single week and another for being the fastest song to reach 100 million streams on Spotify. In addition to dominating streaming platforms, “SEVEN” also took home Song of the Summer at the MTV VMAs, Best Song at the MTV EMAs, and Top Global Kpop Song at the Billboard Music Awards. At the MAMA Awards, it won Best Collaboration and Best Dance Performance – Male Solo.
Though Jungkook is currently serving in the military, his influence and legacy remain untouched, with fans eagerly awaiting his return in 2025. Until then, “SEVEN” continues to prove that Jungkook is a global superstar, setting records and winning hearts around the world.
