Afrobeats sensation Asake is making waves with his ‘Lungu Boy World Tour’, but not just for the music. A fresh controversy has emerged after a former associate, Tunde Babalola, claimed he played a pivotal role in ensuring the tour’s success—particularly its European leg.
Did Asake Get Help Behind the Scenes?
Since the release of his third studio album, ‘Lungu Boy’, on August 9, 2024, Asake has been touring worldwide, thrilling fans with hit songs and collaborations featuring Wizkid, Travis Scott, Stormzy, Central Cee, and Ludmilla. However, the spotlight has now shifted from his performances to backstage drama.
Babalola, who identifies as a former member of Asake’s team, took to social media to make bold claims about his involvement in the tour’s European leg.
Tunde Babalola’s Explosive Claims
In an Instagram post, Babalola suggested that without him, the tour might not have been completed successfully. He wrote:
“Shoutout to me for single-handedly making sure the European leg of this tour was completed against all odds. Keyword: single-handedly. ME! You would be a slave to Live Nation, period, but for me. Thanks for my plaque @livenation @creativeartistagency.”
He also doubled down in another post, saying:
“We are going to stick to verifiable facts. No hate around here. You can’t sack a boss. For all the non-the-wiser gang, I’m a boss—been boss before he made a dime. The issue is, he’s a pathological liar and a user, and we are holding him accountable. That’s all it is.”
Social Media Reacts—Will Asake Respond?
Babalola’s allegations have sparked heated discussions online, with fans and industry insiders debating the unseen efforts that go into organizing major world tours.
So far, Asake and his management have remained silent, leaving many wondering if an official statement will be released.
Is this just a disgruntled former associate looking for credit, or is there more to the story?
