Kanye West, aka Ye, did it again—turning heads and stirring controversy with a low-budget but high-impact Super Bowl ad for his Yeezy brand. While most companies splashed millions on cinematic commercials, Ye went the unconventional route, filming a 30-second spot on an iPhone while reclining in a dentist’s chair.
Kanye’s “Budget Priorities” – New Teeth Over Production?
In the ad, Kanye casually lays back, rocking sunglasses, a hoodie, and a blue blanket pulled up to his chin. Then, he delivers his signature deadpan humor:
“So what’s up, guys? I spent, like, all the money for the commercial on these new teeth. So once again, I had to shoot it on the iPhone. Um… um… um… go to yeezy.com.”
The screen then cuts to a bold black-and-white message: “GO TO YEEZY.COM—PAID FOR BY YEEZY LLC.”
From Super Bowl Ad to Super Backlash
While the ad was only aired in Los Angeles, it immediately set social media on fire. But the real shocker? The Yeezy website displayed just one product: a white t-shirt featuring a black swastika.
This came just days after Kanye posted antisemitic comments on X (formerly Twitter), sparking widespread outrage. The backlash was swift and fierce, with many calling out Ye for doubling down on past controversies.
Despite the uproar, Kanye stood his ground, posting:
“I WOULD NEVER SELL A SWASTIKA TEE SHIRT BECAUSE PEOPLE COULD BE PHYSICALLY HARMED WHILE WEARING IT. I LOVE MY FANS AND SUPPORTERS.”
However, his defense did little to calm the storm. The controversy only grew, with many questioning whether the ad was a marketing stunt gone too far or a calculated move to dominate headlines.
Kanye Declares “Dominion” Over His Wife
Adding fuel to the fire, Kanye took another controversial turn by proclaiming his “dominion” over his wife, Bianca Censori.
“THIS AIN’T NO WOKE FEMINIST ST. SHE’S WITH A BILLIONAIRE. WHY WOULD SHE LISTEN TO ANY OF YOU DUMB ASS BROKE BCHES?”
This rant followed Bianca’s nearly-nude look at the 2025 Grammys, which had already sent the internet into a frenzy. While some saw it as artistic freedom, others slammed Kanye for controlling behavior.
Kanye West: Marketing Genius or Chaos Magnet?
Love him or hate him, Kanye West knows how to grab attention. Whether it’s a Super Bowl ad filmed on an iPhone, a fashion controversy, or a social media meltdown, he continues to dominate headlines.
But as backlash mounts and partnerships remain strained, the real question is: How long can Kanye keep turning controversy into currency?
