Nigerian singer Victony has revealed that he is set to undergo a fifth surgery as he continues to battle persistent leg pain following his near-fatal 2021 car accident.

“I Have Accepted My Reality” – Victony
Speaking about his journey, Victony explained that he has learned to accept his experience:
“My leg still hurts. I am still going to do another surgery. I’m living it. I have just accepted that experience. It’s what is making me who I am today. That’s my story. I don’t want to happily identify with it, but it’s part of my story.”
Beyond the physical pain, the singer also admitted to struggling with survivor’s guilt after learning about the accident’s tragic outcome.
How the Accident Changed His Music Career
Before the accident, Victony’s family considered music just a hobby, as he excelled academically. However, his passion for music intensified when he started university.
“They didn’t know I was taking it seriously until after the accident. When the accident happened, a lot of people came to the hospital, and they wondered how it was possible. They soon began to realize that I had a community that was growing already, and they gave me their blessings from that point.”
Since his recovery, Victony has continued to rise in the Afrobeats scene, dropping hit songs and collaborating with top artists.
As he prepares for his next surgery, fans continue to send prayers and support to the young star, hoping for a full recovery.
