Embattled Nigerian record label owner Ezekiel Onyedikachukwu, popularly known as EeZee Tee, has spoken out amid his ongoing legal battle with former artist Mercy Chinwo and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The music executive has refuted claims that he is evading justice and insists he will not be silenced by alleged misuse of law enforcement agencies.

“I’m Not on the Run”

Addressing rumors of his supposed disappearance, EeZee Tee stated that he has fully cooperated with the EFCC, visiting their office multiple times. However, he revealed that his cooperation came at a high cost, alleging he was coerced into transferring $274,000 to Chinwo’s account.

“The reason I spent nine days in EFCC custody was because they told me that if I didn’t write what they wanted, I would remain detained. I eventually wrote the statement under duress,” EeZee Tee claimed.

Unfulfilled Contracts and Transparency Issues

The music executive further alleged that Chinwo has not fulfilled her contractual obligations to his record label, EeZee Conceptz. “She still owes the company a third album and several singles. There’s also money she diverted into her private account that we were not aware of. Transparency has to go both ways,” he said.

EeZee Tee questioned why he was pressured to make the hefty payment when, according to him, Chinwo had yet to deliver on her agreement.

Standing Firm Against Intimidation

Despite the ordeal, EeZee Tee reaffirmed his commitment to seeking justice, stating, “I am a law-abiding Nigerian who does straight business. I won’t allow intimidation or coercion to overshadow the real issues at hand.”

The ongoing saga has sparked widespread debate about artist-label relationships and the use of legal enforcement in business disputes. EeZee Tee’s bold stance sheds light on the often-hidden challenges faced by stakeholders in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
