Controversial Nigerian street singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, better known as Portable, is making waves again, and this time it’s aimed at Afrobeat superstar Davido. In a fiery video shared online, Portable didn’t hold back, accusing Davido of giving him bad advice about his music career and living a “fake life.”

The Record Deal Drama

In the video, Portable claimed that during a meeting in Atlanta, Davido discouraged him from signing with Sony Music, suggesting instead that he sign with Empire Records, a label associated with Azaké. “You gave me bad advice in Atlanta. Did you pay for my flight? You told me not to go to Sony but to join Empire, saying Azaké is there,” Portable recounted.

However, Portable’s trust quickly turned to shock when he discovered that Davido himself was signed to Sony Music, the very label he had advised against. “I shared the advice with my promoter, only to find out Davido is with Sony and getting paid well,” Portable revealed, accusing the Afrobeat icon of being misleading for personal gain.

The “Fake Life” Accusation

But the drama didn’t end with the record deal. Portable took his accusations further, accusing Davido of living a “fake life.” The street singer, known for his unfiltered opinions, claimed that Davido often inflates the worth of his expensive purchases. “You’ll buy a chain for $30,000 and claim it’s worth $100 million,” Portable criticized, pointing out what he sees as a pattern of exaggerated claims about wealth and luxury.

Portable warned Davido that such behavior could have negative consequences. “Your fake life and fake love will harm you,” he stated, suggesting that the deception could backfire on the superstar in the long run.

A Bitter End, But a Blessing for Wizkid

Despite the harsh words for Davido, Portable ended his message with a surprising twist, offering his admiration and blessings to rival musician Wizkid. “Big Wizzy, God bless you,” Portable said, acknowledging the global music icon in a gesture that may spark more curiosity about the state of Nigerian music rivalries.

So, what’s next for these two heavyweights of the Nigerian music scene? Will this public feud escalate, or is it just another episode in the ongoing drama of Afrobeat? Fans are watching closely.
