Miley Cyrus continues to dominate the music scene, and her smash hit “Flowers” is proving to be an unstoppable force. As fans eagerly await her next musical chapter, complete with rumored album titles and a visual project inspired by Pink Floyd’s The Wall, Cyrus’ past success is still rewriting the record books.
This week, “Flowers” celebrates an extraordinary milestone, hitting 100 weeks on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart. Achieving triple-digit stays on any Billboard ranking is rare, but it’s especially uncommon on a radio-focused chart, where new tracks regularly push older ones aside.
“Flowers” has cemented itself as Miley’s longest-charting single on Adult Contemporary, nearly doubling the 51-week record previously held by her 2009 hit “The Climb.” The track also stands far ahead of current competitors, with Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer” sitting at 78 weeks and Rema and Selena Gomez’s “Calm Down” at 76 weeks.
Not only has “Flowers” endured, but it also shattered records by holding the No. 1 spot on the Adult Contemporary chart for an unprecedented 57 weeks, blowing past the previous 36-week record set by Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You.” Even now, it clings to the No. 2 position, trailing only Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control,” which is currently celebrating its own success as a seven-time chart-topper with 23 weeks at No. 1.
With her next album on the horizon, Miley Cyrus has shown she’s not just a pop icon but a chart phenomenon. As “Flowers” continues to flourish, fans are brimming with anticipation for what Miley has in store next. Will her upcoming era surpass the monumental success of “Flowers”? Only time will tell, but for now, Cyrus is basking in her well-earned glow.
