Jennifer Lopez has decided to put her promotional schedule on hold, canceling all upcoming media appearances to focus on supporting Los Angeles communities affected by the ongoing wildfires.
The 55-year-old actress and singer had been set to attend the LA premiere of her new movie Unstoppable, but the event was called off earlier this week as the Palisades Fire continued to grow. Additional appearances, including stops on The Today Show, The View, Live with Kelly and Mark, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, have also been canceled.
Supporting Her Community
A source close to Lopez told People that her decision reflects her priority to stand with Los Angeles during these challenging times.
“It’s important to her to focus on supporting the community of Los Angeles during this very difficult time,” the insider shared.
Unstoppable, scheduled to debut on Prime Video on January 16, will now proceed without the usual promotional tour from its lead star.
A Tumultuous Time for JLo
The news comes amid a personal milestone for Lopez, as her divorce from Ben Affleck was recently finalized. Details about the settlement included whether she would retain her $5 million engagement ring, though specifics remain under wraps.
Jennifer’s decision to step away from the spotlight underscores her commitment to using her platform to focus on more pressing issues. Many other Hollywood events have also been postponed in light of the devastating fires.
Fans of Lopez can look forward to Unstoppable premiering next week, though her absence from promotional activities will undoubtedly be felt.
