Young Thug has reignited speculation about his alleged rift with Gunna by teasing lyrics that appear to call out a “rat.” The Atlanta rapper recently shared two snippets on Instagram, including one from Lil Baby’s track Dum, Dumb and Dumber off his album WHAM. However, it’s the second clip that caught fans’ attention.
Over a synth-heavy trap beat, Thug raps, “Never associate with a rat / Go and get some money, get a pack,” which many believe is a not-so-subtle jab at Gunna. Both artists were arrested in the sweeping YSL RICO case in 2021. Gunna’s release in 2022, following an Alford plea, sparked rumors of cooperation with authorities—a move some interpret as “snitching.”
This isn’t the first time Gunna has faced backlash. In 2023, Lil Baby fueled the fire by seemingly dissing him during a live performance, telling the DJ to cut their hit Drip Too Hard. Gunna has since tried to clear his name with the release of Bread & Butter, where he denied any wrongdoing, rapping, “Never gave no statement or agreed to take no stand on ‘em.”
Young Thug, meanwhile, added fuel to the fire with a now-deleted tweet aimed at Gunna: “Gunna, stop acting like we friends on the internet. I don’t know [you], my guy.”
Despite the alleged tension, Thug has shown unwavering support for Lil Baby. The two recently collaborated on Dum, Dumb and Dumber, and Baby confirmed that the controversial snippet is part of the deluxe edition of WHAM.
While the feud rumors swirl, Gunna continues to push forward with his career, recently performing in Nigeria for the first time at the Flytime Festival alongside South African star Tyla.
The YSL RICO case continues to cast a shadow over the hip-hop world, with Young Thug affiliate Yak Gotti recently being stabbed in jail. As the drama unfolds, fans eagerly await Thug’s next moves—and perhaps more clarity on the fallout with Gunna.
