Carla Harvey, widely known for her electrifying presence as the co-vocalist of the Butcher Babies, has turned a new page in her musical journey. After parting ways with the thrash-metal band in July 2024, Harvey surprised fans by announcing her new role as a member of the iconic ’90s industrial dance group, Lords of Acid.
Taking to Instagram, Harvey shared her excitement with a heartfelt post and a snapshot of herself embracing her new chapter. “I had three favorite bands in high school: Guns N’ Roses, Pantera, and Lords of Acid,” she wrote. “LOA had me hooked from the moment I heard I Sit on Acid as a teenager dancing the night away at Detroit’s goth industrial haven, City Club.”
For Harvey, joining Lords of Acid isn’t just a career move—it’s a lifelong dream come true. “Now I get to record an album with my industrial heroes,” she gushed, adding, “Pinch 16-year-old me! She’ll be the one in the vocal booth. Praise the Lords!”
Harvey’s departure from Butcher Babies was met with bittersweet emotions. The band released a touching statement celebrating her contributions. “Carla has been an integral part of our journey, bringing her unique talent, passion, and energy to the band. We are grateful for the incredible memories we’ve made together and the impact she has had on our music and our fans,” they wrote.
Though Harvey and Butcher Babies have gone their separate ways, her legacy with the band—including albums like Goliath and Take It Like a Man—remains strong. Meanwhile, Lords of Acid fans eagerly anticipate what Harvey will bring to the group as they collaborate on new music.
From headbanging on stage with Butcher Babies to crafting industrial anthems with Lords of Acid, Carla Harvey’s next chapter promises to be nothing short of legendary.
