Pop icon Janet Jackson has officially kicked off her much-anticipated Las Vegas residency with an unforgettable performance at Resorts World, delivering an electrifying mix of her greatest hits and hidden gems. At 58, the multi-Grammy-winning legend proved she’s still at the top of her game, taking the stage on Monday night with a high-energy two-hour set that had fans on their feet from start to finish.
The performance was a masterclass in nostalgia, as Jackson revisited beloved tracks from her iconic albums Control, Rhythm Nation 1814, and All for You. Fans were treated to rare performances, including the live rendition of “Young Love” for the first time in over a decade, and a fiery display of “I Get Lonely” that paid homage to her red-haired era.
Jackson delivered a show-stopping moment with a nostalgic performance of “If,” recreating the signature dance moves from its music video, earning a standing ovation. Her setlist seamlessly blended iconic tracks like “Scream,” “Black Cat,” and “What Have You Done for Me Lately,” with Jackson’s stamina and presence commanding the stage throughout the night. Even as she took a brief dressing room break, fans were given a behind-the-scenes glimpse via a live feed, keeping the energy alive.
This new residency marks Jackson’s return to Vegas since her 2019 Metamorphosis show, which was a massive success, grossing $13 million. This 10-date residency at the 5,000-seat Resorts World Theatre offers a more intimate experience compared to her Together Again tour, yet her electrifying performance shows that Jackson remains one of pop’s most legendary and enduring performers.
