The ongoing tension between 50 Cent and Jim Jones just got a new chapter. After the Dipset rapper revisited their infamous 2007 performance in a recent interview, 50 Cent hit back with his signature humor and biting commentary.
Jim Jones, while speaking on Justin Laboy’s Respectfully podcast, addressed the controversial New York City show where he performed alongside 50, despite the ongoing beef between Dipset’s Cam’ron and the G-Unit boss. Jones took shots at both 50 and Cam, claiming they’ve been overly focused on him. “Them ns be on my d. I did a lot for them n***s in their life,” he said.
Never one to back down, 50 Cent responded on Instagram. He shared a photo from the 2017 Roc Nation brunch, featuring himself alongside JAY-Z, Diddy, Fat Joe, and Remy Ma—while Jones was notably absent from the group. Adding fuel to the fire, 50 also posted a court transcript from the 6ix9ine racketeering trial, highlighting Jim Jones’ wiretapped phone call with Jamel “Mel Murda” Jones. In the transcript, Jones allegedly called for 6ix9ine to “get violated,” a detail 50 was quick to mock.
“LOL INDIVIDUAL 1 calling the shots out here, I know you working so please don’t say gangster shit to me INDIVIDUAL 1!” 50 captioned his post, referencing the court’s identification of Jones as “Individual-1.”
Jones didn’t hold back during his podcast appearance, defending his decision to perform at the 2007 show despite Dipset’s internal issues and Cam’s feud with 50. “They called me like, ‘Yo, you wanna come out and perform at the show?’ I replied, ‘Shit yeah! I got the hottest record, I’m popping out.’”
He dismissed the drama by saying he wasn’t focused on alliances. “I wasn’t on nobody’s friendship. I was a pirate,” he quipped, adding a dig at G-Unit’s style: “Them n****s couldn’t even dress, but he had a platform for me to perform in front of thousands in New York. Yeah, I’m taking that.”
As fans keep their eyes on the back-and-forth, one thing’s clear: the history between 50 Cent and Jim Jones is anything but dull. Stay tuned as this saga unfolds!
