Hollywood legend Viola Davis is celebrating a love story that’s spanned more than two decades — and she credits divine intervention for bringing her husband, Julius Tennon, into her life.
On Monday, June 23, the Oscar-winning Woman King and G20 star marked her 22nd wedding anniversary with a touching tribute on Instagram, sharing intimate clips of herself and Tennon gazing at each other during a photo session.
“22 years!!! I got on my knees and prayed for love – an active, unconditional love. Someone who would embrace both my gifts and my brokenness. And then my Julius came to me… and I to him. Happy Anniversary, my King. I love you deep!” Davis wrote in the heartfelt caption.

Viola Davis, 59, and Julius Tennon, 71, first crossed paths in 1999 on the set of the CBS medical drama City of Angels. Their connection was instant. By 2003, they had tied the knot, and their bond has only grown stronger since.
Together, they founded JuVee Productions in 2011, a powerhouse production company behind bold, diverse storytelling — including the newly released political thriller G20 starring Davis herself.
