Nigerian social media critic Verydarkman (VDM), whose real name is Martins Vincent Otse, found himself at the center of controversy once again during the Mother’s Day celebration on March 30.
Instead of posting a tribute to mothers, VDM took the opportunity to shade some of his long-time adversaries by sharing pictures of actress Iyabo Ojo, influencer Blessing CEO, OAP Nedu, and comedian Mr. Jollof—all people he has clashed with online and in court.
He accompanied the post with a sarcastic caption:
“Happy Mother’s Day to all women of the house, the wives.”
Iyabo Ojo Fires Back with a Scathing Response
The ongoing rift between VDM and actress Iyabo Ojo escalated further after his Mother’s Day post. In response, Ojo penned a scathing letter addressing his upbringing and behavior.
She directly criticized his mother, questioning her parenting and upbringing of VDM. In the now-deleted post, she accused VDM’s mother of failing to instill proper values in him, which she claims shaped him into the person he is today.
“His mother failed to raise him properly.”
She went as far as questioning his paternity, suggesting that a DNA test should have been conducted to confirm his biological father.
Old Feud with Mr. Jollof Resurfaces
VDM’s long-standing beef with comedian Mr. Jollof also resurfaced. The two have clashed in the past, with VDM accusing Jollof’s wife of having affairs with Yahoo boys.
During their heated social media exchange, Jollof and his wife filed a petition that allegedly included VDM’s home address in Abuja, prompting him to express concerns for his safety.
Despite their past altercation, VDM—who is currently in China—recently posted a new video calling out Jollof once again, reigniting their public feud.
