Maverick singer Seun Kuti recently opened up about his frustration over not receiving an invitation to Afrobeats star Davido’s wedding. The lavish ceremony between Davido and his wife Chioma took place on June 25, 2024, and attracted numerous dignitaries.
Speaking on the podcast Curiosity Made Me Ask hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, Kuti expressed his disappointment, revealing he struggled with the snub for a week.
Kuti explained his pain by recalling how Davido and his entourage used to frequent his family’s bar, the African Shrine, enjoying free drinks. He said,
“Davido would come to the African Shrine with 100 guys, and he would drink without paying, but when it was time for his wedding, I didn’t get IV. I was pained, I didn’t sleep for one week.”
