Sean Kingston was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in federal prison Friday after he and his mother were convicted in a $1 million fraud scheme. His mother, Janice Turner, received a 5-year sentence.
The pair were convicted of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and four counts of wire fraud for defrauding luxury merchandise vendors of over $1 million in property. Kingston, 35, and Turner were found guilty in May.
The scheme involved fake wire transfers to obtain expensive items from businesses.
