Ray J is setting the record straight and clapping back at growing rumors linking him to Whitney Houston’s tragic passing in 2012.
During a June 6 Twitch livestream, the singer and reality TV star addressed the resurfaced allegations alongside his Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood co-star Moniece Slaughter. In an emotionally charged exchange, Ray J pushed back hard on claims that he was present at the Beverly Hilton Hotelwhen Houston was found unresponsive in her bathtub — a death officially ruled as accidental drowning influenced by heart disease and cocaine use.
“What are y’all talking about? I gotta literally come out and explain what it really was, which is super disrespectful to Whitney,” Ray J said, visibly frustrated. “But now it’s getting out of control.”
Ray J and Whitney were known to be close in the years following her divorce from Bobby Brown. While never officially confirming a romantic relationship, they were frequently spotted together and shared a strong bond. Still, Ray J insists he’s stayed quiet “out of respect” for her legacy — until now.
“Eventually, if shit gets too out of control and narratives are being created, I have to say something. Even if you don’t want to. Because it’s like — yo, this shit’s crazy.”
The renewed interest in the story follows recent explosive comments made by Suge Knight in an Art of Dialogue interview. The currently incarcerated Death Row Records co-founder alleged that Ray J not only supplied drugs to Whitney but also used with her.
“She used the term that ‘Brandy’s little brother [Ray J] bringing me drugs and doing drugs with me,’” Suge claimed. “‘Trying to kiss me and do drugs with me.’ Next thing you know, she’s dead.”
Ray J has not directly responded to the specific claims about drug use but was quick to shut down another wild allegation made by Knight — that he and Diddy were romantically involved.
“Ray J and Puffy are lovers? Really? That’s what Suge is trying to say. Suge disappointed me… Suge’s a complete c**t. I’ve always had Suge’s back,” he fired back during a previous Twitch stream.
Ray J’s recent remarks suggest he’s had enough of the gossip and conspiracy theories swirling around his name — especially when it involves someone he cared deeply about.
