Miley Cyrus is gearing up for a major celebration as the 20th anniversary of Hannah Montanaapproaches, and fans can expect something truly meaningful.
The pop icon, now 32, revealed during an interview with SiriusXM’s TikTok Radio that she’s planning a heartfelt tribute to the Disney Channel series that launched her career. “I want to design something really, really special for it because it really was the beginning of all of this that now sits here today,” she shared. “Without Hannah, there really wouldn’t be this kind of… this me.”
Miley played Miley Stewart, a regular teen living a secret double life as superstar Hannah Montana, in the hit show that ran from 2006 to 2011. While she once distanced herself from the character to break free from her squeaky-clean image, she’s now fully embracing Hannah’s legacy.
Reflecting on her journey, she said: “It’s so crazy to think, too, that I started as a character that I thought was going to be impossible to shed. And now… I’ve been kind of integrated into everyone’s life as the character itself. So that’s exciting to get to celebrate that.”
This isn’t the first time Miley has publicly acknowledged the impact Hannah Montana had on her life. Last year, while accepting her Disney Legend award, she said: “A little bit of everything has changed, … but at the same time, nothing has changed at all. I stand here still proud to have been Hannah Montana.”
In fact, Miley has even teased a possible revival of the beloved character. Back in 2020, during a radio interview, she confessed: “I try to put that wig on all the time… She’s just in storage collecting dust and I’m ready to whip her out.” She added that if Hannah were to return, she’d need a serious fashion update: “She’s kinda stuck in 2008, so we’ll need to go shopping with Miss Montana.”
With 2026 marking two decades since Hannah Montana first hit the screen, fans are buzzing with excitement over what Miley might have in store. Whether it’s a reunion, a tribute concert, or a reimagined return of the character, one thing’s for sure: the Hannah Montana era is far from forgotten.
