Yaya Mayweather Ordered to Pay $50 Million for 2020 Stabbing

A Texas judge has ordered Iyanna “Yaya” Mayweather, the daughter of boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, to pay $50.105 million to Lapattra Lashai Jacobs for a 2020 stabbing. According to court documents from the District Court of Harris County, the judge awarded Jacobs $40.105 million in compensatory damages and $10 million in exemplary damages after finding that Mayweather knowingly committed aggravated assault involving a deadly weapon. The compensatory damages include $8 million for past physical pain, mental anguish, loss of earnings, and disfigurement, plus $32 million for future pain, impairment, and disfigurement.

The incident occurred on April 3, 2020, at NBA YoungBoy’s home in Texas. Mayweather, who was dating the rapper at the time, arrived and found Jacobs, another mother of YoungBoy’s children, at the residence. A verbal argument turned physical after Mayweather allegedly retrieved two knives from the kitchen and stabbed Jacobs twice in the arm and bicep. Jacobs suffered non-life-threatening injuries but required surgery. Mayweather pleaded guilty to felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in April 2022 and was sentenced to six years’ probation.

Jacobs had also named NBA YoungBoy in the lawsuit, but the claims against him did not proceed to trial. The court further ordered Mayweather to provide documents showing her bank accounts, contractual obligations, revenue streams, and other earnings to help satisfy the judgment. Despite the massive civil ruling, Mayweather remains on probation from her criminal case, and collection efforts are the next step.
