Michelle Obama is living her best empty-nest life—and clearing up some wild rumors in the process!
On Sophia Bush’s “Work in Progress” podcast, the former First Lady revealed that now, with Malia and Sasha out of the house, life is all about her. “It’s the first time in my life all of my choices are for me,” she said, sounding absolutely giddy.
But apparently, when Michelle started putting herself first, the internet went full drama mode—cue the divorce rumors.
“People couldn’t even fathom that I was making a choice for myself,” she said. “They had to assume my husband and I are divorcing.” Spoiler alert: They’re not.
Sure, she skipped Trump’s inauguration and Carter’s funeral, but that doesn’t mean she’s ditching Barack. In fact, she shouted him out just this Valentine’s Day: “You’re my rock. Always have been. Always will be.”
Moral of the story? Michelle’s just choosing her for once—and some folks clearly can’t handle it.
