Natasha Osawaru, the Edo State lawmaker and fiancée to music legend Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, is clearing the air and standing firm in her truth. Amid heated online discussions about her relationship with the iconic singer, Natasha has boldly declared that her love story with 2Baba is rooted in genuine affection — not scandal.
“I can’t be less proud of my husband simply because of what happened to his marriage with Annie. I’m very proud to be his wife because my relationship with him was built on love. I didn’t take him away from anyone. I met him when he needed love, and I’ve agreed to give him all the love I have,” she wrote in a heartfelt post.
This comes after Natasha raised eyebrows by introducing herself as “Natasha Irobosa Osawaru née Idibia” during a recent plenary session at the Edo State House of Assembly. The statement quickly sparked backlash, with many accusing her of misusing the term née — typically used to indicate a woman’s maiden name.

“Look at this illiterate. Née means born. Meaning, your maiden name or the name you had at birth before you changed it due to marriage.”
The drama doesn’t stop there. Natasha’s controversial relationship and bold declaration come just days after she was removed as Minority Leader of the Edo Assembly following a political shake-up that saw four PDP lawmakers defect to the APC — shifting the balance of power.
